Pray for the Dogossé People

The Dogossé are a small people group that migrated from Ghana to south central Burkina Faso. Evariste and Eveline Palenfo and their three children settled among the Dogossé in 2020. Despite there being no other Christians or churches in this remote Muslim community, but the inhabitants welcomed the missionaries. In fact, the daughter of their local imam became a disciple of Jesus! Recently, due to Islamic violence in their district, the Palenfos were forced to leave. However, Evariste continues to make trips to Bini in secret to encourage their friends and share the Gospel. Élie and Sonia Somda also settled in a remote Dogossé community and quickly developed a good rapport with the community. The people gathered every day in front of their home to listen to audio Bible teachings and Christian music, or to talk with the Somdas. Sadly, the same terrorist attacks have forced them and many people to flee to safer towns.

Prayer:

 Pray for the missionary families:

  • Ask our Father to console the Palenfos and many Muslim villagers who have lost their homes and fields, and that the Lord would somehow deliver those who have been kidnapped.

  • Pray that those who have given their lives to Christ continue to stand in even in this state of insecurity.

  • Pray for the Somda family who have returned to their hometown. Ask Father to encourage them despite the traumatic experience they’ve endured.

  • Ask Father to help them and the whole body of Christ understand events as a strategic opportunity to share the Gospel.
